ORBITAL LAUNCH
Maximise spacecraft payload to orbit with direct ascent trajectories from 55 to 177 degrees including polar, sun-synchronous orbits and 135 degree (equivalent to 45 degree) inclination launching from the Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex.
Southern Launch manages all aspects of orbital launch on your behalf to help ensure your mission is a success.
The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex is located on the tip of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. The complex covers over 1600Ha (almost 4000 acres) of open land with over 6km (3.72 miles) of ocean frontage and supports direct ascent to orbit flight trajectories over the Great Australian Bight, maximising spacecraft payload to orbit.

WHALERS WAY ORBITAL LAUNCH COMPLEX
The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex is one of the only sites in the world that can provide high-cadence launches to polar and sun-synchronous orbits. Southern Launch will manage all aspects of range operations including ground, air and maritime traffic management.
Favourable launch conditions at the Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex offers greater launch window availability and launch schedule flexibility. Stable year-round weather and low maritime and air traffic ensure our customers have unhindered access to space. Launch trajectories from Whalers Way are southward into airspace controlled by one singular body.
We work closely with all regulatory bodies to secure launch approval on behalf of our customers. Australia has excellent relationships with all space-faring nations.
The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex offers:
Fully instrumented range with telemetry, optical and radar systems
16.8-metre-long linear launch rail
Up to 1600km downrange with land-based tracking systems
Low sea and air traffic
Good year-round weather
Southern Launch secures all approvals, including environmental approvals, to undertake space related activities in Australia on behalf of our customers.
