Matt Lama

General Manager, Spaceport Operations

Matt began his career in the armed forces in the UK, specialising in field communications a critical element for military operations.

Following his experience in the armed forces, Matt transitioned into enterprise technology implementation and delivery. Matt worked in multiple industries including defense, telecommunications and professional services and leveraged his skills to design, implement, and maintain complex technology solutions.

Matt continued to build experience in the technology industry after relocating to Australia. In 2020 he joined Fleet Space Technologies, where he played a pivotal role in driving business growth over his four year tenure.

In 2024 Matt joined Southern Launch as the General Manager of Spaceport Operations. At Southern Launch Matt is focused on establishing operational processes and optimising efficiency to ensure seamless spaceport operations for Southern Launch customers.  

Matt is currently studying an MBA and enjoys surfing and running in his free time.
